Rick Ross and Maybach Music Group to Sign with Cash Money?

Earlier this month, rumors spread that Rick Ross’ Maybach Music Group was on the market, with potential partners like Jay-Z’s Roc Nation, Lyor Cohen’s Warner Music, Diddy’s Bad Boy Records and Bryan “Birdman” Williams’ Cash Money family all mentioned as being interest in acquiring the imprint. XXLMag.com recently caught up with Baby to find out the possibility of Rozay joining the YMCMB family.

“We in talks right now,” the New Orleans mogul confirmed with XXL. “If we do or if we don’t that’s still my partner, and one day in life we will, if time means now and if time means later, we will.”

“That’s my friend first of all, that’s my partner [and] that’s my homie,” Baby added. “I have a lot of respect for Ross and what he’s trying to do. “

As previously reported, Ross recently signed both Washington, D.C. rep Wale and up-and-coming Philly MC Meek Mill to Maybach. Other artists on the label include member of the Boss’s Triple C’s crew, Gunplay, Torch and Masspike Miles as well as reggae singer Magazeen.
